3 Quick Ways to Relieve Tension

If you find yourself holding more tension in your body lately, here are three quick tips to relieve the strain. Try each of them and see which one works best for you.

Pin it for later.
  1. Unclench your jaw and relax your tongue, and your body will naturally relax as well. This is an ancient yogi technique.
  2. Interweave your fingers, palms facing you, thumbs up to create the faith mudra. Place the faith mudra on your chest to simulate a hug and release tension.
  3. Take a deep breath starting from your belly all the way up to your throat. Pause at full for a moment before releasing in reverse from your throat to your belly. Pause again at empty. Repeat at least two more times.

  1. This is great. I have to keep reminding myself all day long to let go of the tension. I was doing it and not knowing it until I felt the pain going down my neck so I have had to be very conscious of it over the past few weeks.

  2. Beautiful techniques. The first one worked well for me. When the jaw muscles and the tounge are relaxed, I felt the feeling of letting go.
    Thank you for sharing this!

  3. I’m bad about clinching my jaw. Having a cat on your lap, softly petting it, feeling and listening to it purr is a wonderful way to release tension.
