Don’t break character

The Killers song Be Still is one of my favorite songs when I get overwhelmed and need to settle my mind or my emotions. The song is full of great advice, and my favorite lines are:

Don’t break character
You’ve got a lot of heart

What are your go to songs to sooth your soul?

  1. What an exquisite song! Brandon Flowers always seems to come up with a message that is especially needed at the time it is offered. I also turn to Lee Ann Womack’s “I Hope You Dance”; Tim McGraw’s “Humble and kind” and Gerry Rafferty’s “The Ark”, for solace.

    1. I am not familiar with Brandon Flowers and will have to check him out. Your other suggestions are fantastic! Thanks for sharing!

        1. LOL, I do love him. I never paid attention to who was who. I guess I’m a terrible groupie since they are one of my favorite bands!

    1. I love Annie Lennox’s Walking on Broken Glass song. I’m not familiar with the Nostalgia album, I’ll have to check that one out.

  2. I find myself choosing different music, for no definite reason. If there is a song on my mind, I usually just go with it.

The music might range from Christian to Country to Pop to Oldies.

    1. That gives you infinite options! My oldest actually turns to the Oldies when he is in a funk, it cracks me up. It is to the point that he knows the genre better than me.

  3. I often use music to change my mood or state, but listening to this, all the others fade into oblivion. I hope you don’t mind sharing your soul-soothing song with me? πŸ˜€πŸ’œ I’ve never heard it before, but what awesome lyrics! πŸ˜€ Thank you!
