Mindfulness Mini – Happiness #2

The life in front of you is far more important than the life behind you.

Joel Osteen

Find Something to Look Forward To – Just thinking about something that you are looking forward to can raise your endorphin levels by 27%.

  • Plan coffee with a friend.
  • Plan to surprise a family member with a visit.
  • Plan to watch your favorite movie.
  • Plan a real date with your significant other.
  • Plan a hike on your favorite trail.

Time to take out your calendar and to plan something that you will enjoy! When my husband and I get bogged down by the day to day, we like to talk about our vacation plans. Sometimes those plans are rooted in reality and sometimes they are not, but either way, we feel better when we’re done. What is rooted in reality is the time we will take off to do something together.

  1. Lovely post! I love this. They say the “warrior” pose is a good indication of what a person’s holding onto. The more a person leans forward–the more they want the future; and the opposite is true–the more a person leans back means the more they are holding onto the past.

    1. I hadn’t heard that, love it! Warrior II used to be one of my least favorite poses, and now it is one of my favorites. Warrior I has become more challenging recently. I wonder what all that means…

    1. Yep, let’s count online shopping! 😊 I was just thinking about this same thing this morning. My daughter has been eagerly awaiting a package, and today is the day it arrives. She shares your joy. 😊
